Baby Mammoth

They found a baby mammoth fully intact in Siberia last year. How did I miss this story? It is pretty cute for a dead 37,000 year old ancient pachyderm. Animal Planet reports that scientists are getting a good look inside her to learn more about how she lived. Cool Stuff.

Cherry Blossom Watch

The Brooklyn Botanical Garden will soon be popping with Cherry Blossoms and I can’t wait. Geoff and I just got our dual membership and now we can drop by any ol’ time. It was beautiful there when we went this weekend, but very few cherry blossoms. It’s a bit too early. The BBG have put up a map to show the status of the blossoms. It’s kinda cool.

Richard Preston: Climbing the World’s Biggest Trees

I’m both captivated and horrified by what this man did. I’m glad that I now know about these amazing trees, but the duplicitous method he used to get access to them turns my stomach. He was also interviewed on The Diane Rehm Show about this and a caller said the same thing.
